Joseph High School
On Saturday, Oct. 14th, Mount St.
Joseph High School will be the location for the first annual
Baltimore Area Training Model UN Conference, BATMUNC I. Instructors
from Mt. St. Joseph's, the International Relations school of Johns
Hopkins, and former students from Seton Keough High School will train
new delegates from the Baltimore, Washington DC, and eastern Maryland
regions. If your school has an established program and needs organized
training for your new delegates, this is the place! If your school is
starting Model UN from scratch, you can send all of your interested new
delegates.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
8:30 to 9:15 - Registration
9 to 9:30 - Opening Ceremonies
9:30 to 10:15 - Parliamentary
Procedure with good delegate/ bad delegate demo and participation
10: 20 to 11:05 - Position Papers;
research and writing
11:10 t0 12:00 - Formng Blocs
(please note, if we get a lot of
participants we will stagger sessions so that each workshop has no more
than 30 delegates)
12:00 to 12:40 - Lunch for delegates, Lunch with Johns Hopkins chairs
for moderators
12:45 to 3:15 - Practice Committee sessions with Johns Hopkins chairs
3:20 to 4:00 - Announcements and
Closing Ceremonies
The cost is $20 per school and $20 for
delegates, lunch is included.
