ANOTHER AMENDMENT

Police Brutality has been a very prominent, as unarmed men and women have been shot and killed by police officers. This could be solved by making a law that officers cannot draw their weapon if the suspect is unarmed. Any officer breaking this law shall be under investigation immediately and fired unless the weapon was in dire need for them to survive. In this case, the shall have a two month unpaid suspension.

No person shall be permitted to purchase, possess, or redistribute a firearm anywhere in the United States unless currently enlisted in the armed forces or as a member of any branch of law enforcement.

REVISION

Issue- Guns are detrimental to our society, because they are used to carry out thousands of murders and mass shootings each year in the United States.

· Section 1- Solution: The government must regulate the trafficking of all firearms in the United States by restricting the sale and/or ownership of them to all people who are not law enforcement officers or members of the armed forces. This can be done through gun buy back programs and the suspension of gun owner’s licenses.

· Section 2: This proposal will go into effect 1 year after it is ratified by ¾ of the states.

· Section 3: This law will be enforced by federal mandates along with state and local authorities.

  Recycling -
Sect. 1

Global Warming and pollution is a reality. The United States produces a lot of waste because we are wasteful and tend throw away more than we recycle. If we recycled the majority of the trash we have then the recycled materials would be able to be reproduced into new products. Therefore, I propose that the federal government should legally enforce the states to have their inhabitants produce at certain amount of recycling per week, and if not compliment they shall be fined.

Sect. 2

The effect of enforcing recycling will take at least take 12 months to go into affect because no money has to be raised in order to pass the laws.

Sect. 3

This will be enforced by the states

  • The United States does should not have an official language. The United States is a melting pot of cultures. People come from different countries to have a better life. The United States is filled with many different languages. The delegation of Madeleine therefore believes that the United States should have no official language.

  • After at least two months, the states should ratify this amendment and it should go into effect the next month.

  • This would be a federal enforcement of the law because it goes into effect for all citizens.
