Stock Market Essay - Everyone!!

Look at the stocks offered on  Scroll Down to Stocks Offered. Pick two that you would invest in if you actually were on he market.
    Provide the name of the company and the name of the entrpreneuer
    Describe the product, and what you thought was interesting about the product
    Describe the investment, and how many shares you bought
    How much did you invest, and how much did you end up with? The difference between the two is called your capital gain or capital loss
    Explain why you feel these products would appeal to consumers.
    Conclude with a prediction about how quickly the product will increase in sales

Government Essay - Choose ONE of the following prompts:

1. Chapter 13 - Describe how a presidential candidate gets the nomination of his or her party, giving specific examples, a timetable, and the two most often used methods for choosing a state's delegates to each party's convention.

2. Chapter 13 - How is the president elected, and do you think the current method should be changed? Make sure you are very specific about how electors are chosen, how important the states in this procedure, and how electors are assigned by state. Make sure you provide the total number of electors, the number needed to elect the president, and how the state's electors are distributed to the winner of the state's plurality.

3. Chapter 14 - Define the diplomatic, military,  legislative and judicial powers of the president.
How are these powers carried out by the president?

4. Chapter 14 - Why does the president have a cabinet? Define the cabinet and describe how it works using specific examples. What role do the Independent Agencies have and how are the agencies different from the cabinet? In your conclusion describe an agency that has directly affected you OR describe an agency you feel is needed.

5. Chapter 15 - How does the government finance itself? Identify and describe income and borrowing by the government.

6. Chapter 16 - How is American foreign policy carried out? Define the doctrines that are in place to define policy, make sure you define the roles of specific agencies, and describe options available to the president when a crisis happens.

7. Chapter 16 - Why does the United States join alliances such as NATO and especially the United Natons? Make sure you provide specific examples and events where the US has taken advantage of these alliances.

8. Chapter 18 - Describe the levels of the court systems of the US and Maryland. Correctly identify which levela carry out original jurisdiction and which carry out appellate jusrisdiction.

9. Chapter 19 - Describe how the Amendments to the Constitution are intended to protect the rights of individuals and restrict the powers of the government. Use specific examples and court cases.
