This mod is for new delegates to consult when they are in their first "live" conference. These guidelines focus on situations in General Assembly, ECOSOC, or other non-crisis committees. This list was first developed by D. Johnson on 3/30/2015.

  1. Know the issues from the background guide.

  2. Observe other delegates for understanding  of parliamentary procedue.

  3. Develop an argument.

  4. Know the pro’s and cons of your argument.

  5. Develop a counter argument.

  6. Know positions of other countries on the issue.

  7. Have and execute a plan to discredit the arguments of countries who are against you.

  8. Develop strategies to bring adversaries to your argument.
  9. Think of how to get other people to be on your side.
