This mod is for delegates to
consult when they find themselves in a situation when they have more
experience than the chair. These guidelines focus on situations in
General Assembly, ECOSOC, or other non-crisis committees. This
list was first developed by M. Krueger on 3/30/2015.
1.
have a list of MUN vocabulary with you (moderated caucus, unmoderated
caucus,etc).
2.
be one of the first speakers.
3. Speak calmly, strongly, effectively, and choose words wisely.
4.
Only overrule chair is the chair has no idea what to do (rare).
5.
Be informed about your topic/country and know some view points of other
countries.
6.
Look for delegates who aren't representing their countries point of
view and nicely correct them.
7.
Eye contact.
8.
Factual information ( don't make up things unless in fun MUN).
9.
Go to delegates who are nervous in an un-mod and talk with them.
10.
Don't underestimate the quiet ones, always keep your main points to
yourself while in an un-mod and speak those points out in a moderated
caucus.
11.
If partnered, split up and take control (no two delegates from the same
school in one group).
