Budget Plan


This is a list of of financial issues associated with "moving out".

Class Objective -  

1. Develop a knowledge of the tasks and resources needed to move out from home.

1. Decide on a possible occupation, find entry level income: Salary.com, there are others you may have looked at already.

2. Find a place to live. Decision point, do you want to  live by yourself or with friends?
     Resources: Craig's List, Zillow (top of page has screening links, # of bedrooms, roomates etc.), MRIS (same as Zillow), Redfin (sales only, no rentals)

3.  Expense list (you may not have all of these, for instance a lot of apartments include utilities in their rent. Also, you may have internet, cable and phone bundled, such as Verizon, Comcast/ XInfinity):
       a. Rent
       b. Electricity
       c. Internet
       d. Phone
       e. Water
       f.  Car insurance
       g. Car payments (?)
       h. Health insurance
       i. Gas or Metro   
       j. Home/ rental insurance
       k. Student and credit card payments
       l. Food
       m. Entertainment

4. Savings    

5. Add up income and add up expenses. Does your employment fit your needs?

6. Reconcile, adjust income and expenses to balance
