AP US History Syllabus
 -Baltimore-
1st Semester 2017 -2018 School Year
                                                                           G Period

Welcome to AP US History for the 2017 - 2018 year. This syllabus will provide two tools for students (and parents). First, it will be a daily guide to the sequence of class, readings, and assignments.  Second, at the end of the semester it will provide a guide to studying for the exam. It will be updated weekly. If the sequence doesn't look correct to you or is out of date, your browser may be loading a stored page rather than the current page. Check the date at the bottom of the page to make sure you're up to date.

The course is college paced  with college level academic expectations. The most important thing is to read, and read ahead of the class. You are expected to take control of your academic experience, and  your ability to deal with the material and reading for the class will determine your grade and your score on the AP test. The test will be on May DATE. There are no makeup or alternative dates provided by the College Board.

They are great for review points, but since they are not generally document based they are not current. Use them to test your factual memory, rather than actual practice essays.
           2. The key names are a little more comprehensive than the text. As with reviewing the Define Identify at the end of each text chapter, do not dwell on  words and names you already know. After consulting with the class, subsequent chapters will begin with the text Define/ Identifypage, and use the "Prepare" Key Names page in your review.
           3. The Documents and Readings at the end of each chapter are a good review. We will also be using these in our skills workshops.
Activity - Go over the Key Concepts and events at the end of each chapter. As we discussed, we will break these up and use them at the beginnong of each class to help us focus on the Objective each day. The general plan is to use the text as a daily warm up and the Prepare for review.
